Therapy: What to expect
In therapy sessions, you can expect a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you’ll work with a trained professional to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
At first, your therapist will likely ask questions to better understand your background, current struggles, and goals for therapy. Over time, the sessions may include various therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness exercises and others, depending on your needs.
The process should feel like a safe space for self-exploration and healing, though it can sometimes be challenging as you confront difficult emotions or experiences.
Progress tends to happen gradually, and it’s important to feel comfortable being open with your therapist. The goal is to help you gain insights, develop coping strategies, and make positive changes in your life.
